Assistant Professor Operations Research and Information Engineering
Academic focus: My research focuses on the study of platforms for information provision and autonomous services.
Research summary: My fields of interest are societal networks, game theory, network optimization, and theory of economic incentives. I develop models and tools for strategic learning, information design, and incentive mechanisms to achieve socially desirable outcomes in socio-technical systems.
What inspired you to pursue a career in this field? I have always loved mathematics and this field gives me the opportunity to combine math with game theory and machine learning algorithms to make an actual impact on real-world problems. This is the beauty of operations research as a field: you have interesting problems and in the process of solving them you delve into new tools—you have both theory and applications.
What are you most looking forward to as a Cornell Engineering faculty member? At Cornell, there are experts in any field or technique I am interested in learning more about as well as endless opportunities for collaboration in the OR department, in the Engineering College, at Cornell Tech, and elsewhere in the University.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Reading and cooking and walking up the hill to campus!
