Bob Kaplan is Senior Fellow and Professor, Emeritus at the Harvard Business School where he has taught for 30 years. He was also on the faculty of the business school at Carnegie-Mellon University, and served as Dean for six years. Kaplan received a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T., a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Cornell University, and several honorary degrees. His research has focused on linking cost and performance management systems to strategy implementation. He co-developed both activity-based costing and the Balanced Scorecard, and authored or co-authored 14 books and more than 150 papers, 25 in Harvard Business Review.
