Shameek graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013 with a B.S., in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Finance with High Honors. He received Faculty Honors for 3 semesters and was on Dean’s list for 8 semesters. Shameek has also passed all 3 levels of the CFA Examination and will receive his charter once he completes the required work experience.
While studying at Georgia Tech, Shameek took courses in Security Valuation and Derivative Securities during which he recognized his profound interest in finance. He then decided to work part-time at Residential Capital Management where he utilized his intrinsic analytical skills in developing valuation modes for real estate assets. In addition, he worked on a Joint-Venture deal with Premium Point Investment, a New York based hedge fund, where he conducted due diligence on company financials and revenue forecasting and participated in road shows to pitch investments to wealthy investors and PE clients.
During the summer of 2016, Shameek interned at Erb Capital Management, a hedge fund which focuses on statistical arbitrage. Shameek researched, developed, back-tested and implemented various trade strategies for short investment horizons and helped the firm generate an annualized return of 34% over 15 trade ideas submitted.
At Cornell University, Shameek has also led various teams on group projects and utilizes his strong communication and leadership skills to enhance the team environment. In his spare time, Shameek enjoys having an active lifestyle playing soccer, swimming and exercising.
