Hao Wang graduated from the University of Toronto in 2012, specializing in management and statistics sciences. As a result to her dedication to her studies she received the U of T Students’ Honors list for three years. She is set to graduate from Cornell University with a degree in operations research and information engineering and a concentration in financial engineering.

During this past summer, Hao worked as a sales and trading summer intern at Barclays Capital. From her two rotations on the credit sales and prime brokerage desks, she obtained in-depth knowledge of credit products, sales techniques as well as the big picture of the sales and trading. These experiences enhanced her attention to detail, and gave her valuable communication and multi-tasking abilities.

As a data scientist at Capital One Financial, Hao processed and manipulated clients’ portfolio data, performed deep-dive analysis and obtained key business insights while assisting the senior management team to determine digital marketing strategies. This experience gave her an opportunity to develop strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Additionally, she created and maintained data infrastructures of credit risk models, which enabled her to further enhance her abilities to work with complex financial models.

Hao is actively seeking a career in sales, trading and equity research as well as any opportunities to further her interest in capital markets.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing poker and sports such as swimming and volleyball.
