Chi Zhang obtained a B.S. in actuarial ccience with high distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2013. After graduation, Chi decided to join the Financial Engineering program at Cornell University to enhance his quantitative skills and understanding of financial markets.

Chi developed his keen interest in the risk sector while interning as a portfolio analyst at Grand Yangtze Capital, a private equity firm, during the sophomore year summer. While analyzing the market trend of the portfolios and valuing the post-IPO performance, Chi realized the huge market risk behind the investment and potential hedging opportunities. Referred as a risk analyst, he expanded his risk management interest in the Junior summer internship. Focusing on the market risk analysis, Chi got more into the markets and applied risk models to assess the risk level of financial products and portfolios.

Upon graduation, Chi would like to pursue a career in the risk management, fixed income or asset management in the financial industry.

In his spare time, Chi enjoys working out, playing soccer and traveling.
