I received my Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from India in 2010. I was also selected for the National Talent Search Examination Scholarship in recognition of my intellectual and academic abilities. As an engineering graduate, I not only got first-hand knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems; but I also got the opportunity to explore my potential through projects and internships in industrial and automobile engineering.
Prior to pursuing my Masters in Operations Research at Cornell, I was working as an Operations Officer in Hindustan Petroleum, a Government of India Enterprise. My first professional assignment under the LPG Strategic Business Unit, where I was responsible for leading a team of 22 Technical Operators, remarkably improved my leadership, problem-solving and project management skills. With the onus of enhancing the daily plant production to meet the ever increasing LPG demand, I applied my analytical skills to redesign the process flow cycle of the plant operations which helped in scaling the daily production by 30 percent.
Upon completion of the Master’s program, I intend to utilize my problem solving skills and past work experience to forge a career in consulting, especially in the manufacturing or energy field.
