Anqi Huang graduated summa cum laude from the College of Wooster in May 2015 with a B.A., majoring in mathematics and minoring in physics. She also studied abroad in the joint program of Mathematics and Statistical Science at the University College of London in 2014.

During her summer research at Progressive Insurance, Anqi analyzed the competitiveness of Progressive’s pricing to uncover product design differences. While interning at Julian Asset Management, she prepared stock analysis in terms of fundamentals, and led a marketing project to form new contracts with foreign investors. She also worked in the assessment team for the College of Wooster’s APEX offices for two years.

Anqi’s solid quantitative background, coupled with her strong technical skills, allow her to approach complex problems in an efficient manner. In February of 2015, she led a team of three to earn a Top 9% Meritorious Award in the international Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). Upon her graduation from Cornell, she hopes to apply her analytical strengths to a variety of real-world problems.

In her spare time, Anqi enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and playing the hulusi (an ancient Chinese music instrument). As a nationally-certified first responder (EMR) and healthcare provider, she is also actively involved in volunteer programs, from assisting local wellness centers to participating in service trips.
