Author of more than sixty published works on mathematical programming and it applications, on the foundations of modeling, modeling formalisms and computer-based modeling environments, and on implications of the Internet and digital economy for management and management science. Former President: The Institute of Management Sciences; the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Awards: NATO Systems Science Prize; Harold Larnder Prize; Omega Rho; George E. Kimball Medal; INFORMS Fellow and INFORMS President's Award; Honorary Doctorate, RWTH Aachen University, Germany; National Academy of Engineering.
