Transcript - FE Career Bootcamp

FE Career BootCamp is an intense professional development program designed specifically for our FE students who just started the degree. The purpose is to introduce our students as early as possible to the many faceted financial industry.

We all came down as a group from Ithaca. We met up down here in Manhattan at CFEM. For me the most eye opening experience that day was when we went on to BNP Paribas, and we got to tour the trading floor. Ben Bernanke made an announcement that he wasn't going to taper. So that made the financial markets basically go crazy while we were on the floor.

Many of our students are international. FE Career BootCamp helps our international students to overcome the cultural gap and prepares them for successful careers.

We got someone to talk about the financial industry with us, answering some of our main concerns regarding the application process for summer internships and also giving us tips of what actually makes you stand out in everything you do from the resume to the cover letter.

We came back to CFEM, and we interacted with a lot of alumni, had some pizza, beers, conversation.

We got to interact with them, ask them questions, get their contacts, be able to establish a relationship that later on was very fruitful when actually looking for a summer internship.
