Transcript - Foot in the Door Summer Internships
This summer I entered that city in a group called corporate equity derivatives. Most of the products within this group applied knowledge of the derivatives. You can go through all the theory you want but in the end of the day looking at the derivatives; in the way that people actually use them; in the way that people price them, was just an unbelievable experience. I'm returning starting January of next year.
For many off our student summer internship is the first taste of working for a financial company in the United States. Many of our recruiters use summer internships as the way to screen junior talent and finding employees that feed their culture best.
If you had asked me exactly year ago what my ideal internship would have been, I would have said investment banking Goldman Sachs and that's exactly the internship that I got. The next step would have been to get the full-time offer, which I was lucky enough to receive and see if I was actually vital in landing this internship. The top firms that I want to work at only recruit at a very small select group of schools and Cornell is one of those schools.
