Mingjie Lyu received her bachelor’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Engineering Systems and Design with a concentration in Business Analytics from Singapore University of Technology and Design, under full scholarship.

Mingjie has various experiences in data analytics and operation management. During her internship at Leica Instrument Singapore, she developed demand forecasting model involving seasonal pattern and market factor analysis. At the same time, she participated in Kaizen training and obtained relevant knowledge. She was also involved in Undergraduate Research Project Programs, including developing optimization model for wireless basement arrangement using object oriented programs, and building prediction model for stock market using Neuron Network models. The project and internship experiences enable her further strengthening programming skills in Python, R, Matlab and Processing, and the ability in applying machine learning and optimization models.

Mingjie joined the ORIE Master of Engineering program at Cornell in order to further enrich her knowledge in data analysis. She looks forward to pursuing jobs as data analytics and consulting in future career, where she could apply analytical and business skills to create values from information and data.
