Yuanfang Xiang received her bachelor degree in applied mathematics with a minor in business from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Her summer internship in 2016 was spent at Macrovoyant Partners, where she concurrently conducted market fundamental research and financial analysis, as well as co-managed an AUM $100K self-directed book which focused on interest rate products and FX options.
During her winter internship at Haitong Securities in 2015, she performed industry and company research, and conducted regression analysis using both macro and micro factors, with the company’s financial statements.
During these experiences, Yuanfang found her passion for trading and equity research. Yuanfang has dedicated much of her academic career to exploring and understanding the finance realm.
In her master degree research project, she developed trading strategy of picking one ETF and selecting particular component stocks of the ETF to form the trading pairs, by applying Lasso regression method and self-developed characteristics criterion.
As an undergraduate student in IIT, Yuanfang actively participated various campus events and organizations. As the Vice President of International Students Organization, she organized weekly board member and event brainstorming meetings. She also planned and collaborated events with other organizations on-campus and off-campus such as the International Festival.
