Yingda Yu is currently a graduate student at Cornell University working on his master’s in Financial Engineering. He holds a B.A. in mathematics and economics from Grinnell College in 2011, where he received full scholarship for four years, graduated with honor and was a Phi Beta Kappa honor society member.
Yingda refined his analytical skills and gained a unique global exposure through internship experiences in diverse industries. With Grameen Bank in Dhaka, he worked on a project to investigate and analyze the demand of cyclic farming loans by interviewing more than 300 rural borrowers. With Clarity in Numbers LLC, a private actuarial consulting firm in Chicago, he worked on projects to facilitate the pricing and valuation of health/benefit plan. With U.S. Commercial Service in Shanghai, he worked on market research in aviation and remanufacturing industries and helped clients locate business opportunities in China.
Upon graduation, Yingda hopes to pursue an exciting career in financial service or consulting where he could best utilize his critical thinking and problem solving skills to help dealing with global challenges.
